Qlik has released 'Qlik Sense' November 2019 that introduces expanded cloud connectivity, SOC 2 Type 2 certification, new visualization capabilities, mobile offline support for Android, reporting improvements and more.
Expanded Cloud Connectivity
As we continue to lead with cloud, this release provides more reasons for our customers to use Qlik Sense in SaaS and cloud environments. We have expanded our portfolio of connectors for cloud editions of Qlik Sense – opening new possibilities for our cloud offerings. You can look forward to “My Qlik” improvements around subscription and account management – driving a better experience around adopting our SaaS offerings. In support of our customer’s journey to our SaaS offerings, we are happy to announce SOC 2 Type 2 certification to meet the compliance requirements of our large enterprise customers. New Visualization Capabilities
This release brings new visualization capabilities that broaden the analytics capabilities in Qlik Sense. Some of these enhancements include a new Mekko chart, expanded accumulation options in our bar chart, line chart, combo chart, and table. This release also includes improvements to our Visualization Bundle with trellis container enhancements; and finally, we have delivered new table styling options for improved control over look and feel. These visualizations will likely increase the use of Qlik Sense across our customer base providing new ways to deliver insights.
Offline Mobile Support for Android
For mobility, we have offline mobile support for our Android mobile app. Qlik Sense Mobile for Android now has the same capability as our iOS app, allowing users to download data and explore it interactively when offline. It features a local version of the Qlik Associative Engine running on the device, supporting full exploration and search capabilities.
Run QlikView in Qlik Sense Cloud
The Qlik Sense November 2019 release also adds the ability to run QlikView apps in cloud editions of Qlik Sense, making it easier for QlikView customers to modernize their analytics. Users can consume QlikView alongside Qlik Sense through a common hub and infrastructure. This is a key step in setting the stage for infrastructure cost reduction, deployment simplification and significant reduction of entitlement management challenges for our QlikView customers. This is the first of two phases to further support our co-existence strategy.
Improved Enterprise Reporting
We continue to improve our enterprise reporting capabilities for new and existing customers. This release includes the highly anticipated NPrinting 16 to NPrinting 19 migration tool, which offers our customers an easy and automated way to migrate content from NPrinting 16 to Qlik NPrinting 19. We have also delivered new feature enhancements, including variable-based filter support to provide an easy way to dynamically filter report content, and have improved on-demand reporting for more flexibility and extensibility in Qlik Sense.
Data Integration Platform Improvements
Beyond data analytics, we are also pleased to announce improvements to our data integration platform with the next Attunity release – version 6.5. This release provides significant performance improvements and expanded connectivity including Salesforce and MongoDB data sources. Attunity 6.5 also integrates with new data target platforms, such as Azure Data Lake Storage Gen 2, Azure Databricks and Google BigQuery, which increasing customer flexibility to choose the solution that best addresses their data and analytics needs.
Other notable release improvements include enhancements to the management console in Qlik Associative Big Data Index, and Qlik license service integration for Qlik Insight Bot. The Qlik Sense November 2019 Product Release delivers a breadth of new capabilities supporting our overall supply chain from data to insights. Qlik continues to lead the way in data and analytics – with speed and efficiency.
